How to make polyester wool curtains for your next party

How to make polyester wool curtains for your next party

Made with the same durable polyester fabric as your home’s carpet, this soft fabric can also be used as a substitute for a more durable blanket for a party.

The polyester yarn is knitted into the curtains by hand and then washed in warm water.

To keep the fabric from being damaged, the curtains are lined with a soft wool fabric.

It’s also possible to use wool blankets to create a more colourful, yet durable alternative to a traditional cotton blanket.

Here’s how it works.

1.

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.

2.

Start by laying out two layers of wool fabric, one thick and one thin.

Cover the thicker layer with a cotton blanket and set aside for 30 minutes.

3.

Repeat the process for the thinner layer, then wash the blanket by hand, using warm water and a damp cloth.

This process should take about an hour.

4.

Lay the thin layer of wool in the middle of the wool blanket and secure with a seam.

5.

Fold the edges to create the front and back edges.

6.

Press the fabric to form a triangle and tie the two ends together.

7.

Using a sewing machine, stitch the front edge of the triangle onto the wool fabric and the back edge onto the linen.

8.

Repeat with the second layer of the fabric, leaving a 3-inch tail for sewing.

9.

Using an electric sewing machine and a small sewing needle, sew the two edges together to form the curtain.

10.

Wrap the fabric in a piece of cling film, leaving two small tails for sewing along the way.

11.

To finish the project, attach a black curtain to the front of the polyester curtain.

12.

To ensure the curtains last longer than your home, use polyester blankets as a blanket.
